Life is filled with challenges, both visible and hidden, that can impede our growth and fulfillment in life. Whether internal or external, anchored in the past, present or future, these challenges can burden us with anxiety, depression, overwhelm, self-doubt, dread and distress. Yet however they show up, whatever their origins, I believe life’s challenges are meant to shape us, not define us.
Central to my approach is the knowledge that healing and growth are most effectively done relationally, with trust and collaboration bringing about our most profound transformations. From this foundation, we can work toward uncovering the origins of inner unrest and embark on a process of understanding, integrating, and ultimately transcending our challenges.
Working together using proven, evidence-based techniques, we can address a range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, and depression. My goal is not only to help you navigate these issues but also to fortify your innate strengths, resilience, and self-insight, transforming challenges into catalysts for lasting growth. Ultimately, I believe therapy is about more than just managing problems: it’s about charting the course toward a more empowered, authentic, and joyful life.
Reach out to me today for a complimentary consultation. We can talk about the problems you’re experiencing, and develop a plan for how we can work together to get you back on the path to better living.
Hello there, I’m Graham. I am a settler, living and working on the traditional unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
I am passionate about guiding people on a journey to gain self-awareness and self acceptance. Carl Rogers once said “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change“, and in my experience working with people, this is very accurate. When we understand and accept ourselves just as we are, we have a strong foundation to create positive, lasting change in our lives.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling (MC) from City University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UBC, and I hold RCC registration with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.
I’m also an EMDR trained therapist and have experience working with trauma in all shapes and forms.
Outside the office, I spend my time with my wife and daughters enjoying board games or funny Tik Tok videos. You can often find me in the forest connecting with nature which is a source of spiritual connection for me.
As an integrative therapist I custom tailor my approach with each client using techniques that have an evidence base to work with the issues you want to work on. I commonly use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS sometimes referred to as “parts work”), CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
Some clients find that they benefit from homework between sessions to keep them focused on our work.
I also understand that many clients have busy lives, and have difficulty making time in their schedule for homework.
In our first session, we will discuss whether or not you would like homework to be a part of your therapy.
If you would like to see my availability, feel free to check my schedule.
I offer in person and online sessions:
Standard Session (50 minutes) $140
Extended Session (80 minutes). $190
My services are tax-exempt. Note that BC MSP does not cover my services, but many extended benefit plans do.
My services are covered under most extended health plans. If you wish to work with me, please check with your insurance provider to confirm your plan covers the services of Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC).
Please send me an email if you have financial barriers and are unable to pay my full rate.
We often have apprentice counsellors who charge a significantly lower rate. Check HERE for availability
The consult call is a good way to get an idea of whether or not you feel like we have a good fit. Fit is important in counselling.
However, if you would rather meet me in person for our first meeting, you are always welcome to book a session with me without having a consult call first.
Our office is located at 2520 Columbia St, just off of Broadway St. in Vancouver, BC.
More details can be found HERE.
I ask that I receive 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. The full session rate will be charged for cancellations with less notice.
